Air Chief, Sadique Abubakar Lectures Junior Military Officers on Contemporary Warfare at AFCSC, Jaji.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on Saturday delivered a lecture to students of Senior Course 40 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Kaduna State.

The title of the lecture was “The Nigerian Air Force in Contemporary Warfare; the Chief of the Air Staff’s Vision for Future Engagements”.

The lecture focused on the current state of affairs in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), the achievements of the Service in the slightly over 2 years administration of the President Buhari Administration and the contemporary challenges of the Service.

In addition, the lecture was able to convey the vision and policy thrust of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) for the NAF of the future.

The lecture was followed by a stimulating interactive session during which some of the staff and students of the College asked questions that gave the CAS the opportunity to expound on his lecture.

A statement by Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, Director of Public Relations said, “There were also contributions to the effect that the leadership style in the NAF was worthy of further studies and emulation.

“One thing that was clear at the end of the lecture and the interactive session was the fact that the NAF had indeed been transformed into a much more professional force capable of meeting the nation’s security imperatives.

“Furthermore, it was clear that a solid foundation was being laid for a NAF that would be able to meet the engagements of the near future.

“Of note were the tremendous achievements in the areas of capacity building, self-sustenance efforts, innovation, personnel welfare, massive infrastructural developments, aircraft reactivation/acquisition, force sustenance, force protection and air power projection.

“Without the support of the Federal Government and the appropriation of resources, none of the feats would have been possible”, said the CAS.

The Commandant of AFCSC Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Dambo thanked the CAS for creating the time to come and interact with the staff and students of the College, especially on a Saturday.

He equally commended the vision of the CAS and the speed with which he moved to actualize the vision, adding that Air Marshal Abubakar is a motivator, who had set a high standard for the office of the CAS.
