The Police in Anambra State said on Thursday 2nd October 2017 that at about 11am, following actionable intelligence report, its operatives raided a printing press in Onitsha and recovered thousands of pamphlets printed by the outlawed indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB Members).
It said IPOB was planning to distribute the pamphlets to the public in order to cause apprehension and prevent people from exercising their franchise during the Anambra State Governorship election slated for 18 November 2017.

The Police named the suspects arrested as Udeagha Ebube Chukwu aged 27 years of Oba in Idemili South LGA and Elochukwu Okoloji aged 37 years of Alor Town also in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.
“The Command urges members of the Public to ignore any form of propaganda and false alarm by misguided elements in order cause fear and breach of public peace in the State” it said in a statement.
“Finally, the Commissioner of Police CP Garba Baba Umar, further assured law abiding citizens in the State that it will not relent in its efforts towards ensuring safe and secured environment before, during and after the election.”
