AREWA YOUTHS PARLIAMENT HONOURS BURATAI.

The Arewa Youths Parliament has bestowed honour on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai with an award of exemplary leadership of excellence.

A statement by Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, Director, Information Management; Department of Civil/Military Affairs said, “The award is in recognition of Buratai’s effort towards repositioning the Nigerian Army in carrying out its constitutional roles.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Speaker of the Youths Parliament, Dr. Mohammed Bashir commended the Nigerian Army leadership for the good work they are doing as well as routing out of Boko Haram terrorists from the Sambisa forest.

He pledged to continue to partner with the Nigerian Army in promoting peace and stability in the country, noting that it is when there is peace that any meaningful development could take place.

 Receiving the award on behalf of the COAS, the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Army Headquarters, Major General Nuhu E Angbazo thanked the youth parliament for the recognition.

 General Angbazo further applauded the parliamentarian foresight in exercising their civil responsibilities for preaching harmonious co-existence among the various ethnic and religious groups in the country.

He assured the delegation that the Nigerian Army would always discharge its duties professionally and responsively in line with the vision of the chief of Army Staff, affirming that no personnel will involve in human rights abuses while carrying out assigned tasks.

Present during the visit were senior officers of the Army Headquarters as well as members of the Arewa Youths Parliament.
