Army 67 Regular Course Cadets Tour Operation Lafiya Dole Theater

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in its determination to acquaint and prepared Army cadets of 67 Regular Course with current counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations, has embarked on the operational tour of the operation Lafiya Dole theater.

The Commandant NDA, Major General Jamil Sarham who led the team to the Theater paid a courtesy visit to Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi at the headquaters of Theater Command, Maiduguri on Thursday.

Gen Sarham said they are in the theater to salute the courage of the theater commander and his gallant troops for what they doing. He added that the tour is aimed at exposing the cadets to the counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations in the North East.

”we are here to salute you the Theater Commander and your troops on the successes you have achieved in the fight against insurgency within the theater. We are proud of you. With what you are doing, very soon this criminality will end” he added.

General Sarham further stated, “we are also here to expose our cadets to the practical operations in the theater, talk to the commanders and soldiers of the command, so that our cadets can tap from your experiences, as they will be passing out from the Academy very soon and may be deployed to this theater or other military operations within the nation”.

He also disclosed, ” on our way coming by road from Kaduna we passed through some parts of the theater. We passed through Damaturu and we have seen your deployments, formations and logistics movement. Our cadets have many things to learn”.

In his welcome address, the Theater Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi said ” You are welcome to the theater and I hope your visit will acquaint the cadets the opportunity to see the practical operations within the theater.

The Theatre Commander who was represented by the Maritime Component Commander, Rear Admiral Othniel Gabdo Filafa, further said ” we believe by the time they went round the theater they will learn more and be prepared for the profession they have choosen to pursue”.
