Army Bids Farewell to Late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa at National Cemetery; COAS, Others Salute His legacy

The Nigerian Army (NA), on Thursday, 10 October 2024, bade final farewell to late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa, Director, Legal Services, Army in a solemn and poignant ceremony at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, senior officers, professional colleagues, sympathisers, family and friends were among those who honoured the memories and the remarkable service he rendered to the nation in his lifetime.

Paying tribute to the late senior officer, General Lagbaja acknowledged Major General Musa’s invaluable contributions to the military legal system and unflinching dedication to duty, which he noted, will forever be etched on the institutional fabrics of the NA.

In his remarks during a funeral church service held at the All Saints Military Protestant Church, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, the Chief of Administration (Army), Major General Ohwohigho Akpor described the late senior officer as a brilliant, diligent, resourceful and meticulous officer, with vast experience and ability to impart knowledge with an overwhelming moral standard.

Gen Akpor eulogized Major General Musa’s commitment to national service and his remarkable efforts to produce well trained personnel for the Directorate of Army legal services.

He added that the late senior officer lived an impactful live and gave valuable insights and guidance to legal related issues while in service.

The burial ceremony featured the presentation of national flag to the deceased officer’s next-of-kin by the Chief of Army Staff represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, firing of 21 gun volley and laying of wreaths in honour of the late General.

Born on 4th of May 1968 in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa was granted Direct Regular Commission as a member of the National Guard/Direct Regular Commission on 25 September, 1993 and rose steadily to the enviable rank of Major General.

Until his passing on 23 September 2024, he was the Director Legal Services (Army).

The interment ceremony had in attendance, principal staff officers from the Defence and Army Headquarters, as well as retired and serving senior military officers,

President Nigerian Bar Association Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe (SAN) and other eminent members of the bar, family, friends and sympathisers.
