Troops deployed at Magam town on 25 June 2018 arrested three suspected informants in Gobirawa Fulani village following a tip off.
The suspects are alleged to be responsible for giving information to bandits before they carry out attacks.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing while the suspects will be handed over to appropriate authority on completion.
Similarly, troops deployed in operation IDON RAINI while on patrol at Dansadau Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered four motorcycles at Abobo village from bandits.
The bandits abandoned their victim and the motorcycles on sighting the troops and fled into the bush.
Efforts are being intensified by the troops to get the fleeing bandits.
A statement by Brig-General Texas Chukwu, Director of Army Public Relations said, “The public is reminded to always report any suspicious activities to the law enforcement agents for prompt action.

Meanwhile, members of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) led by1 Division Chapter President, Hajia Hauwa’u Mohammed, have distributed some food items and other relief materials to the widows and less privileged as part of the activities marking the sallah celebration.
She stated that the gesture is one of the Association’s cardinal objectives of touching lives of the widows and less privileged in the society.
She pointed out that the items will also assist in reducing the difficulties faced by the people and advised them to engage in vocational training so that they can be gainfully employed.
The NAOWA President 1 Division Chapter appealed to other philanthropic organizations to emulate the good work of the Association.
In his response, the beneficiaries thanked NAOWA members for their kind gesture for always coming to their aid.
Items presented during the event include: some bags of rice, Tubers of yam and Toiletries.
