Army to Partner with National Counter Terrorisn Centre to Enhance Training, Protection of Critical National Assets.

In a strategic move to strengthen national security, the Nigerian Army has pledged to enhance its partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) with the aim of boosting ongoing counter-terrorism campaign and protection of critical national assets.
This collaboration was reaffirmed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, during the visit of the Coordinator National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Major General Adamu Laka on Friday 16 August, 2024 at the Army Headquarters.
General Lagbaja stressed the importance of the partnership in curbing terrorism and enhancing the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army.
The COAS said, “It is important we continue to find ways to enhance our operations by improving our strategies to tackle the evolving threat of terrorism.
“We will continue to work together to ensure the safety and security of our nation and her critical assets”.
Earlier, the coordinator briefed the COAS on the latest developments in the centre’s  counter-terrorism efforts.
He expressed gratitude for the collaboration, highlighting the necessity of an integrated approach to counter-terrorism efforts.
 “Together, we will enhance our capabilities and response strategies, ensuring that we are prepared to confront any challenges that may arise,” he posited.
Major Gen Laka lauded the COAS for his visionary leadership ,noting that, “the Army Chief has been a key player in the fight against terrorism and has always advocated strongly for a multi-faceted approach to tackling terrorism, and is ever willing to support the Center’s initiatives.
The coordinator emphasized that the COAS’s support for the center has been invaluable.
The visit was climaxed with the exchange of souvenirs and a commemorative group photograph.
The collaboration underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
