The Commander 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Abdu Hassan on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Command CP Donald Awunah as part of efforts to synergize in the fight against security challenges.
In his remarks Brigadier General Hassan pledged the readiness of the Brigade to collaborate with the Police in the fight against Crime and Criminality in the state.
CP Don Awunah in his response stated that the hallmark of internal security is inter-agency collaboration.
He assured the Brigade Commander that as a lead agency in internal security, the Police will always partner with Nigerian Army to achieve national growth in the area of law Enforcement and Crime prevention.
CP Don Awunah further assured the members of the Public that the command has put in place an intelligence team and also activated all the tactical teams in effort to reduce crime in the state.
He therefore implored law abiding citizens to co-operate with the Police and provide necessary information saying, it is important to emphasis that crime prevention and control is a collective responsibility.
