Aso Villa dismisses report on Magu’s sack

The presidency has dismissed reports of the sack of Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr. Ibrahim Magu, as “speculative” and “pre-emptive.”

Reacting to the reports, Garba Shehu, spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari, said the presidency was yet to receive any report on the said sack from Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the federation.

“We are reading reports that the EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu has been sacked. No report has been made available to the Presidency by the Attorney General of the federation over the matter,” the statement read.

“The report of his sack is therefore speculative and preemptive.
