Badoo: 225 Suspected Cultists, Kidnappers in Police Net; 20 Others Wanted

Following the marching order given to security agencies in Lagos State to fish out members and stamp out the deadly ritual cult gang, called “Badoo”, Lagos State Police Command, working in concert with other security agencies and local security volunteers on Friday arrested 87 suspected Badoo members.

It declared another 20 other suspected members and sponsors wanted in connection with activities of the group in Ikorodu.

With the new arrest, members of the cultist group so far arrested now stand at 225 suspects arrested. 138 suspects had been arrested last Sunday.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Fatai Owoseni, noted that the 87 suspected Badoo members were arrested in an all-night operation on their hideouts in Owutu and Odongunyan in Ikorodu.

Among those declared wanted for cult related killings include: Moshood aka Mosho, Alfa aka King of Boys, Papa, Fela, Alakoto and Chukwudi.

The police also declared 14 others wanted for kidnapping in Ikorodu including Agbara, O/C; Femi aka FM, Pencil, Odidan, Jaru, Allen, Bush, Happiness, Fagbo, Junior, Nuru and Jamiu.

The police advised the suspects to come out of their hideouts and report themselves to the nearest police station in their own interest.

 The Command urged members of the public with useful information on the suspects who are all residents of Ikorodu to assist the police.

 Before the raid on Odongunyan and Owutu the police in conjunction with members of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, and representatives of the Nigerian Army, Lagos Neighbourhood Security Corps and Odua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) met with herbalists and Babalawos in Ikorodu on the need to collaborate with the police to wipe out the cult group in Ikorodu.

Among those that carried out the operation was Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), ACP Olatunji Disu, Acting Area Commander, Ikorodu and all Divisional Police Officers in Ikorodu.
