Bauchi Police nab suspected kidnappers, rapists.

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers and rapists who have been terrorizing residents in Bauchi state.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Command spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed stated that acting on intelligence reports, Police detectives attached to Ganjuwa Division in collaboration with vigilante group arrested the suspected kidnappers and rapists.

The statement said the Police, the suspects who were arrested from Mada Dutsen Kura Hamlet in Yali ward of Ganjuwa Local Government Area allegedly stormed the residence of one Abubakar Mohammed in the same village armed with cutlasses and sticks, raped his wife and threatened to kidnap his mother.

“Complainant gave them Sum of Thirty five Thousand Naira (N35,000) and pleaded with them not to kidnap his mother but they seized his motorcycle receipt as collateral pending when he pay outstanding ransom of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000)‎,”said the statement.

The suspects arrested include; Bala Mohammed, Dauda Damina, Mohammed Ahmed and Dahiru Mato.

Two cutlasses and motorcycle receipts seized from the complainant were recovered from the suspects. They have allegedly confessed to the crime.

“The case is under investigation after which they would be charged to Court for prosecution,” the police said.
