Be Bold and Courageous; DEPOWA President Omobolanle Olonisakin Urges 4th Set of 32 Graduates of DSACT.

The 4th batch of 32 graduates of the DEPOWA (Defence and Police Officers Wives Association) Skills Acquisition Centre on Tuesday passed out after weeks of specialized training with the President of DEPOWA, Mrs. Omobolanle Olonisakin noting that ‘Empowerment is crucial for everyone’ in present day world.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony which had in attendance, wives of the Chief of Staff to the President, Hajia Abba Kyari, Minister of Defence, Hajia Dan-Ali as well as wives of Service Chiefs and IGP, Immigration, Prisons among others, she emphasized the need for vocational education to be taken seriously to empower Nigerians to start thinking of self-employment.

Omobolanle said, “It is worthy of note that the DEPOWA Skills Acquisition Center had graduated 3 sets of trainees prior to this latest graduation.

“Our gathering here today (Tuesday) is to witness the graduation of the fourth set of students of the Center after six months of intensive training and learning”.

“In empowering people via vocational skills, we develop our country, our continent, our planet and contribute to human development”.

Continuing she said, “Therefore, we have 32 graduates in different vocations, 14 of whom are widows.

“It is pertinent to note that our ability to graduate this 4th batch of trainees is an assurance that we are keeping pace with our track records of developing humanity and indeed the less privileged in our society, with particular emphasis on the widows of our fallen heroes”

Advising the graduates Mrs. Olonisakin said, “I want you to remember that the times we live in, have been quite challenging but the reality is, you need to be bold and courageous.

“Therefore, put to use what you have learnt. You have been given the opportunity to secure your future and in the process create jobs and livelihood for others too.

To members of the board of DEPOWA the President said, “I want to thank my sisters, National Presidents of NAOWA, Hajia Umma Kalsum Buratai, NOWA, Mrs. Theresa Ibas, NAFOWA, Hajia Hafsat Sadique and POWA, Princess Asmau Ibrahim Idris for their support towards this vision since its commencement. My sisters, merci beaucoup!
