The IGP Intelligence response Team, following the directive of the Inspector General of Police have arrested the ring leader of the Fulani Herdsmen and three principal suspects who led the killing of scores of Benue indigenes as a result of the passage of the law against open grazing in Benue state government.
A police statement disclosed that the ring leader along with three other suspected killers were nabbed in Tunga town, Nasarawa state between the 16th and 19th of February.

The statement said, “In line with the directives of the Inspector General, Ibrahim Idris on the arrest of all persons involved in the killings in Benue State and those in possession of AK 47 rifles and other prohibited arms, four (4) principal suspects were arrested in Tunga town, Nasarawa state between 16th and 19th February 2018 by IRT in connection with the killing of Sergeant Solomon Dung and other Police officers and many innocent citizens in Benue state.
The suspects are Alhaji Laggi 40 years, mastermind and gang leader of the herdsmen group; Mallam Mumini Abdullahi 34 years, Muhammed adamu 30 years and Ibrahim Sule 32 years.
Suspects have confessed to the killings and mentioned other gang members in possession of the Police rifles they took from the slain police officers as well as others in possession of arms.
Serious follow up is in progress in Benue, Taraba and Nasarawa states.
The DIG Operations, who is heading the operations has spoken more on behalf of the Inspector General of Police on further progress of investigation.
