The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotum Idris, has appointed the former Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, as the New Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command.
Fatai Owoseni will replace Bashir Makama as the new CP in the state.

The appointment followed recurrence of herdsmen’s attacks and killings in Benue Communities with the Police under CP Makama unable to checkmate the bloodbath and restore security.
President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to relocate to Benue State to restore law and order, following killings perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen.
