“Throughout my tenure as Commander Guards Brigade, Abuja remained peaceful and secured except for the minor skirmishes of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shiites. As far as the military is concerned, we tamed them”.

“Most importantly, throughout my tenure, there was no single bomb blast, no issue of insecurity anywhere in the FCT. I am fulfilled because I conducted a lot of occasions and activities which went as planned and we received a lot of accolades from both within and outside the country.

In a brief remark, the new Guards Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Usman assured that he would ensure that the standards set by his predecessor are sustained especially as it concerns the peace and security of Abuja.

He said, “Wherever my predecessor stopped I will continue. Guards Brigade is not new to me. I served here for four years. I would build more on what he has achieved. I assure you that FCT will be more secured.”
