Buratai urges more cooperation between Israel & Nigeria; salutes 60 years of beneficial bilateral friendship.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has solicited military cooperation from the  Government of the State of Israel to help prosecute the war against insurgency and other crimes perpetrated by criminal elements in the country. 
The COAS made the appeal in Abuja when he hosted the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Shimon Ben-Shoshan paid him a courtesy visit at the Army Headquarters.

e said the Nigerian Army is willing to partner the Israeli Government to improve the capacity of its officers and men on cyber intelligence, and other key areas of military supports.

 The Army Chief, lauded Israel for nurturing and sustaining the long-standing relationship in diverse areas of bilateral cooperation with Nigeria, for over ,60 years, pledging the support of the Nigerian Army to the Ambassador, and his country’s government. 

Earlier, Ambassador Ben-Shoshan, acknowledged the gallantry of troops of the Nigerian Army in the fight against Boko Haram terrorism in the North East saying Nigeria can count on Israel’s support because terrorism is terrorism anywhere in the world whose Mena e should be fought against.

 He assured Buratai that the Israeli Government will partner and offer necessary military assistance to the Army, to effectively fight insurgents, bandits and other criminals elements making peaceful living a challenge.

Present at the visit were the Chief of Training and Operations, Major General Enobong Ufoh, Chief of Projects Implementation, Major General MSA Aliyu, Chief of Administration, Major General MS Yusuf, Chief of Military Intelligence, Major General SA Adebayo, Major General Adetayo from department of Standards and Evaluation, Major General S Udoumwa, Deputy Chief of Policy and Plans, Major General B Sawyer, Director of Plans, Brig Gen H Ahmed, Acting Provost Marshal, Nigerian Army and Col Sagir Musa, Acting Director, Army Public Relations.
