2024 Captain to Major Promotion Exams Commences; As Commander TRADOC Inaugurates Examination Panel

The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe on Sunday 5th May 2024 inaugurated the Examination Panel for 2024 Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination  (CMWPE).
The inauguration ceremony was held at Muhammadu Buhari Auditorium Nigerian Army, School of Supply and Transport Benin City, Edo State with Fifty Five Members of the Examination Panel inaugurated.
Major General Aligbe who also doubles as the Examination President charged the fifty-five panelists to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their respinsibilities.
He stated that their nomination to participate in the exercise was
based on thier, high level of integrity,  honesty and professional competence.
The Commander TRADOC  NA therefore  urged them to be above board in adhering to the salient principles of fairness, thoroughness and uprightness in the conduct of the examination.
 He added that  as  responsible and diligent senior officers of the Nigerian Army, they must guard against actions that could compromise the aims and objectives of the very essence of the examination.
 Major General Aligbe emphasized the criticality of the Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination as one of the core determinants of the candidates ‘ career progression which must be  handled by panelists based on objectivity and transparency as contained in the Nigerian Army Examination Charter.
General  Aligbe reminded the panelists of the guidelines guiding the setting of  the examination pursuant to the Nigerian Army standard in order to achieve smooth conduct of the Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination 2024.
He added that they must be meticulous and fair in setting the examination towards achieving the end state of prodding the officers’ ability  to solve problems rather than seeing the examination as a wielding process.
Going forward he also stated that the examination should help the the Nigerian Army to produce problem-solvers  officers in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy which is “To transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment “
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commandant  Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport who is also the Chief Host, Major General ND Shagaya congratulated the Panelists for thier nominations.
Major General Shagaya described the examination as a catalyst for career progression of the candidates adding that it will equip the candidates with requisite knowledge that will help them in playing active roles in support of the Nigerian Army in meeting the objectives of the nation’s defence and security.
He thanked the Chief of Army Staff for making the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport  a standing location for the conduct of Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination for the Direct Regular Commission officers in the Nigerian Army.
The ceremony had in attendance the Chief of Training TRADOC Nigerian Army, Major General POA Okoye,  Representative of the Army Headquarters,  Acting Director Examination TRADOC Nigerian Army,  Principal Staff Officers of Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport as well as Observers.
 Prior to the inauguration ceremony, the Examination President had addressed the panelists at a programme organised by the TRADOC Nigerian Army which was designed to refresh the memories of the panelists on the Modus Operandi of conducting Captain to Major written promotion examination which was co-ordinated by the Acting Director Examination TRADOC Nigerian Army, Brigadier General GU Nwamba with focus on the provision of the Nigerian Army Examination Charter.
The  climax of  the activities of the day was  a courtesy visit by the Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe to the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport Benin, Major General ND Shagaya at Headquarters NASST.
The Commander TRADOC Nigerian Army was briefed on the activities of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport and was taken round to witness  beautiful demonstrations by the students.
