The Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Major General Parker Undiandeye on Wednesday November 2024 decorated 25 newly promoted Warrant Officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army serving in the agency including one of his aides, Warrant Officer Gift Ogar with their new ranks with a charge that with their elevation, “Discipline, Regimental Sense of Duty and Knowledge on Your Specialty” should be the watchword.

Congratulating the promoters, the CDI said, “Promotion is always great joy as well as great responsibility. It means the system has recognized your input and appreciates it and is rewarding you because it wants you to do more.
“I want you to know that this responsibility should extend to personnel comportment, discipline and Regimental bearing which must be high standard. You cannot be doing well if you turn out in public looking shabbily dressed. What message will you be sending to your subordinates or the public that you represent.
Furthermore the CDI advised the promoters not to rest on their oars as the work for the next promotion has started with their decoration
He said, “Note that the work for your next rank starts from today. If you do not work harder it will be recognized as well and when the time comes the system will put you aside and reward those that worked hard and are deserving.
Earlier, Director of Administration, DIA, Major Gen Michael Onoja while congratulating the soldiers, urged the Warrant Officers to see themselves are the bridge between the Non Commissioned Officers and the Officer Cadre noting, “Your roles including understanding the thinking of the leadership of the hierarchy and conveying same to the soldiers professionally not to become freedom fighters which some wrongly assume”.
The Occassion was witnessed by the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence, Directors and families and friends of the promoters.
