Child Trafficking: Katsina Police Arrest Woman over plot to sell twins for N350, 000; Smash Armed Robbery, Car Snatching and Motorcycle Robbery Gangs.

The Police in Katsina State have arrested a 30 year of mother of twin children, Salima Lawal for negotiating to traffic the twins by selling them for the sum of N350, 000.

Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP BD Gwana in a briefing, said, “On 2nd December 2017 at about 9pm, the Command based on a tip-off arrested one Salima Lawal aged 30yrs of Marabar Kankara, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state who had negotiated to sell her twin children at the sum of N350, 000 to one good Samaritan in Ruwan Godiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state.

On the arrest of armed robbers, car snatchers, motorcycle robbers and other criminals, CP Gwana said, “On 30th of November 2017 at about 10am, the Police succeeded in arresting one Muhammad Tukur Isah aged of Unguwar Alhaji Lawal village, Kafur LGA of Katsina state and Muhammad Mudahha Isah aged of the same address who conspired with others at large and attacked the house of one Umar Lawal ‘m’ Unguwar Baro village, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state.

They robbed him of the following items: Money in the sum of N300,000, Motorcycle Boxer Red in colour valued at N200,000, and Gsm Handset Gionee valued N7000.

One of the suspects has been identified by a witness to be among the armed robbers. Investigation into this case is ongoing.

On 30th November 2017 at about 10pm, the Command based on a tip-off succeeded in arresting a suspected notorious armed robber/cattle rustler by name Ibrahim Umar alias “ORO” of Yankuzo village, Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state.

Suspect has voluntarily confessed to be a member of a fifteen (15)-man armed robbery/cattle rustling syndicate terrorizing Katsina and Zamfara states.

He has displayed special skills in arms handling before the police.  He also confessed to have participated in more than thirty (30) different armed robbery/cattle rustling attacks both in Katsina and Zamfara states.

He confessed to have killed four persons during his operations as follows: Killed two of his victims and rustled thirty cows in a village in Gusau LGA of Zamfara state; two years ago, he Killed two of his brothers through accidental discharge. They are Haladu Rabiu aged 15yrs of Yankara village, Fasakari LGA of Katsina state and Rabi’u Yahaya aged 20yrs of Yankuzu village Bilbis LGA of Zamfara state.

Investigation is ongoing into this case and suspect will soon be arraigned in court.

Continuing the CP said, “On 4th December 2017 at about 3am, based on a tip-off, the command succeeded in busting a syndicate that specializes in trafficking in Indian Hemp and illicit drugs suspected to be psychopathic drugs.

“Operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Katsina state while on surveillance patrol at Dandume Town, Katsina state raided a house and arrested the following suspects: Dahiru Abdullahi aged 27yrs of Rijiyar Kwabo village, Dandume LGA of Katsina state and Iliyasu Ibrahim aged 25yrs of Gangare village, Dandume LGA of Katsina state.

Exhibits recovered from them include 4 bags containing large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp and One bag containing large quantity of drugs suspected to be psychopathic drugs.

“On 29th November 2017 at about 6am, the Command succeeded in busting a syndicate that specializes in car theft and the following suspects were apprehended:  Abdullahi Isah aged 26yrs of Hotoro Qrts Kano, Usman Muhammed aged 29yrs of Brigade qrts Kano, Umar lawal aged 33yrs of Shaiskawa Daura Katsina, Murtala Balarabe aged 25yrs ‘m’ of Rigachukum, Kaduna state – (Receiver).

“Suspects were intercepted at Gidan Mutum Daya, along Katsina – Kano road, with a stolen Motor Vehicle Honda 86 model, blue in colour, with registration number AA 711TAK, belonging to one Safiyanu Sani ‘m’ staff of Primary Health care Mai’adua, Mai’adua LGA of Katsina state.

“They confessed to have stolen it from the premises of the owner at Daura LGA of Katsina state.

One Murtala Balarabe aged 25yrs of Rigachukum, Kaduna state was arrested as their receiver who usually assists them in disposing the stolen motor vehicles.

“On 30th November 2017 at about 4pm, the command succeeded and busting a notorious syndicate of motorcycles thieves, that specializes in stealing motorcycles parked in Banks’ premises in Katsina.

“The duo of one Nura Gambo aged 26yrs of Dagije village, Daura LGA of Katsina state and one Bishir Ibrahim aged 30yrs of Yamari village, Kankia LGA of Katsina state were nabbed when they stole a motorcycle Jinchen Rubber motorcycle, Engine No. 1007424, valued N220,000 belonging to one Sani Danladi of Daddara village, Jibia, Katsina state inside the premises of First Bank, Kofar Kaura Katsina.

Two fabricated master keys were recovered from their possessions. Suspects are making useful statements assisting the police in their investigations.

In a similar case, on 28th November 2017 the command succeeded in arresting one Abba Ya’u aged 28yrs of Kofar Ruwa Qrts, Kano who stole a motorcycle Jinchen Rubber black in colour, unregistered, valued N200,000 inside UBA Bank, Kofar Kaura Katsina belonging to one Fahad Abdulrashid ‘m’ of Tsanni village, Batagarawa LGA of Katsina state.

One fabricated master key was recovered in his possession.  Investigation is ongoing.  They will soon be charged to court.
