In an effort to impact positively on the lives of widows, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army (NA) Major General Emmanuel Kabuk has distributed 120 bags of rice to 75 widows of Abakpa Military Cantonment and 103 Battallion Awkunanaw Barracks Enugu.
The distribution was done on behalf of the COAS by the President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, 82 Division Chapter Mrs. Talatu Emmanuel Kabuk on Friday the 5th of October 2018.
The kind gesture is in line with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai’s vision on the concept of Responsiveness to the welfare needs of troops and their families.

While presenting the food item to the widows, Mrs. Talatu Kabuk reiterated the compassionate character of the COAS.
She said, “Taking serious interest in the welfare needs of Nigerian Army personnel and their families (especially our widows) is a key component of the COAS vision.
“Hence, empowerment initiatives like the Barracks Investment Initiative, Skills Acquisition Programmes/Centres, donation of food items and Medicals are key desires of the COAS’ aimed at improving the welfare needs of NA personnel and their families which all Commanders have been enjoyed to take seriously”, she said.
Present at the occasion were all the executive members of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association and Soldiers Wives Association 82 Division Chapter.
