COAS, Lt Gen Lagbaja Commissions Key Infrastructural Projects in Guards Brigade; Harps on Effective Maintenance Culture

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja has commissioned several laudable projects in Guards Brigade Nigerian Army, Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro Abuja.
He enjoined the Brigade officers and troops to ensure the maintenance of the facilities to enable it fulfill its purpose as well as stand the test of time.
Performing the commissioning, the COAS applauded the Commander and his team while affirming that the remodelled Quarter guard, ultra modern lecture Auditorium,
Accommodation for both Officers and Soldiers of the Brigade’s Quick Response Force are testament to the commitment of the commander’s leadership quality which would afford troops the opportunity to cool-off while off duty so as to perform optimally when the need arises.
In his welcome remarks, the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya stated that all the projects are geared towards enhancing troops fighting efficiency and welfare.
He said it is in line with the COAS  Command Philosophy, which is “to transform the Nigerian Army into a well trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint Environment”.
In his vote of thanks, the Brigade’s Chief of Staff, Col Abdulrahaman Bello thanked the COAS for his unrelenting commitments towards Guards Brigade noting that the Projects will go a long way in meeting the needs and purpose for which they were executed.
The projects include the remodelled ultra modern equipped auditorium named after the Chief of Army Staff, the stand-by accommodation for Quick Response Force capable of housing over 250 personnel, 5 officer’s accomodations as well as the newly remodelled Brigade’s horses stable.
The commissioning ceremony was witnessed by Principal  Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, Commanding Officers of various units under Guards Brigade, Staff Officers as well as troops under command.
Climax of the ceremony was the signing of the Brigade visitor’s register, presentation of souvenir and group photographs.
