Crackdown on Criminals; Delta Police Kill Armed Robber, Nab Several Kidnapping Suspects, Armed Robbery Suspects, Rescue kidnap victims, Recover Snatched Vehicle.

Following a manhunt for wanted kidnappers who abducted one Peter Emajemite along Akwinakwi and demanded a ransom of N10million, the Delta State Police Command have arrested some members of the gang just as the kidnapped victim was rescued alive.

 According to the Police, at about 4.30pm on Tuesday 9th October 2017, operatives led by ASP. Shehu Mainasara, after tracking the location of the suspects, at Uwerhu village forest, arrested 4 suspects namely Christian Jonathan Akpojaro aged 32 yrs, Johnson Saato Ometekam aged 24yrs, Tiefie Million aged 28yrs and Jeofrey Aya aged 32yrs. They are all residents of Aladja/Ughelli area of Delta State.

The victim was rescued and the manhunt for the remaining suspects for the remaining at large in in progress.

In a similar vein, the police said it has arrested a kidnapping suspect who led the abduction of Mr. Emeka Chimuoku aged 64 yrs who was abducted on Monday 2nd October 2017 along Idumuje-Ugoko road and recovered the victim’s phone.

The Police said, “At about 9.30pm on Tuesday 9th October 2017, operatives of (SAKCCS) Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crimes Squad, led by Inspector Julius Robinson, acting on intelligence arrested one Mohammed Nyale 25 yrs, a native of Chanawa Abogi LGA, Kogi State.

The Police said Nyale who is a resident of Agbarho town was accosted at Issele-Uku junction and upon being searched; the victim’s “Samsung Galaxy Tab 3” was recovered from the suspect adding that the search and rescue for more possible abducted victims continues.

On the death of the suspected armed robbery suspect, the Delta Police said, “One Paul Debra, Chairman of Uduyara Vigilante of Ovwian in company of other vigilantes reported at Ovwian Aladja Police Station that at 11.15pm on Tuesday 9th October 2017, while on patrol along Emedjor Street, information got to them of some hoodlums robbing people in the vicinity.

They (vigilante) in turn, informed the police of the development and the police raced to the scene. The robbers opened fire on them and in the ensuing gun fight; one of the robbers was shot while the others escaped.

A locally made pistol was recovered from the wounded suspect who was taken to Divine Clinic where doctors confirmed him dead while receiving treatment.

In another development, the police said that “Sequel to the manhunt of some armed robbery suspects who invaded the house of one Mr. Isaac Nikoro of No. 48 Uti/PTI Road, Effurun on Tuesday 3rd June 2017 at about 2am and again on 22nd September 2017 at about 12 midnight, some of the suspects have been arrested.

The armed robbers dispossessed the family of Mr. Nikoro of their Jewelries and Native beads worth #9million, Wrappers worth #700,000; 3.HTC Phone of #98,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Phone worth #250,000 among other valuables.

“After tracking the Samsung phone, one suspect by name Sunday Dada of No. 7 Osbom Kingsley Street, Ughelli and an employee of the said victim was arrested by Eagle Net Operatives and handed over to State CID.

The Police further said regarding recovery of a snatched vehicle that, “Sequel to the manhunt of some armed robbery suspects, who invaded the Chillish Filling Station, Jakpa road, Effurun road area of Warri, at about 11.40pm on Tuesday 3rd October 2017 and carted away a Mercedes Benz ‘C’ Class Saloon Car, Colophons Machines and other valuables, the said vehicle has been recovered by operatives of Eagle Net.

The Police said the manhunt for suspected members of the gang now at large for possible arrests and prosecution is still in progress.
