Crackdown on Cultism: Delta Police arrest 67 suspected Cultists.

 Following a directive by the Commissioner of Police in Delta State to Police divisions to checkmate the activities of cult members who have been making lives uncomfortable for citizens, police operatives at the weekend swung into action.

Consequently a total of 47 cultists and their leadings including males and females were arrested from different parts of the state.

“To make matters worse for the cultists, the police swooped on them while they were having cultists related celebrations” an officer said.

A statement from the office of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zanna gave the breakdown of those arrested and the police divisions where the arrests were made before being transferred to Asaba.

 From Ogwash-uku division, 24 males and 18 female suspected cultists were nabbed, Agbor division, 11 male and 2 female suspected cultists were nabbed while at Okpanam division, 2 male cultists were arrested.

Others are Ibusa division, 2 male cultists arrested, Kwale division, 1male cultist, Abraka division, 3 male cultists arrested and Owan/Aladja division where 4 Male cultists were arrested.

 This brings the grand Total of persons arrested and transferred to the command headquarters so far to 47 comprising 20 female suspects and 47 male suspects

The police said further investigation into the offence of the suspects is continuing.
