In the determined effort to stamp out cultism and other violent crimes through community engagements, as directed by the Inspector General of Police, the Cross Rivers State Police Command under the headship of CP Hafiz Inuwa has commenced a campaign against cultism menaceĀ
At about 8.15am,at the State Housing Estate division, the Police engaged the staff and students of West African Peoples Institute (WAPI) on the dangers of cultism and unlawful possession of firearms.Ā
They were warned about the dangers of being a cult member which include untimely death, dropping out of school, unnecessary fears etc.Ā
They were advised not to associate themselves with cultists and other criminal activities while those already into it were warned to renounce their membership and also surrender all illegally acquired arms if any.Ā

They were also urged to urgently expose they know in possession of firearms.Ā
The staff and students were very happy with the police enlightenment and promised to cooperate with the Police in this direction.Ā
Efforts are on to engage other schools and communities as well on the dangers inherent in cultism.Ā
