Cultism: Kwara CP, Amore Accuse Political Class of Sponsorship.

Commissioner of Police in kwara state, CP Olusola Amore who is retiring soon has indicted the political class in the state for the increasing spread of cultism from tertiary institutions to the communities whereby artisans now join different cult groups and kill themselves.

Addressing the media in Ilorin at the police headquarters on his achievements in the last three months, CP Amore expressed disgust and shock at the development as Vulcanisers, Barbers, Carpenters, traders, Tailors etc. are now members of different cult groups in Ilorin, kwara state capital.

He said the situation is so worrisome that at the slightest provocation these cult groups kill themselves in violent fights, a development he noted portend ‎a serious threat to the security of the state.

 Amore said, “I blame politicians for cultism that has been exported from the four walls of tertiary institutions to the streets.

 “Our politicians obviously patronize them, and the day they stop patronizing them, cultism will disappear on the streets. It’s because the politicians patronize them, that is why it’s thriving”

 He pointed out that in the last three months, a total number of nine vehicles stolen from kwara state and other states were recovered adding that fifteen stolen motorcycles from various parts of the state were also recovered.

 The CP said seven armed robbery gangs were successfully busted; the cases successfully investigated and suspects are currently facing prosecution in the court of law.

 Amore also told journalists that five gang of armed robbers who have been terrorizing Ilorin, led by one Olasunkanmi Akintebi, popularly called “Jagaban” who escaped with gunshot wounds on his leg has been re-arrested at a ceiling has been arrested, and will soon be prosecuted.

 The CP added that one Busari Ise Oluwa was also arrested with substances suspected to be human parts, which had been decomposing, and that he will soon be charged to court while efforts were going on to arrest other accomplices.

 Also, CP Amore said a 5-man ‎gang comprising James Francis, Yusuf Kabir, Azeez Suleiman, Shuaib Zakariyau and Adamu Laro who specializes in snatching of motorcycles were arrested at Oke Andi area of Ilorin.
