The Nigerian Army has operationalized the new headquarters 6 Division in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
The 6th Division which is the youngest Division of the Nigerian Army was formally consecrated and launched into operations by the Minister of Defence, Mansur Mohammed Dan-Ali.
As part of activities marking the operationalization, the New Gate of HQ 6 Div HQ, inauguration of 6 Div Quarter Guard, unveiling of 6 Div Monument took place.
Others are the consecration of 6 Division’s Headquarters Complex and Flag-off of 6 Division operational activities.

They include the 6 Division’s Anti- Bunkering Squad, 6 Division’s Anti- Kidnapping Squad, the Strike Force and the division’s ‘Operation Check-Mate’ as well as Multi Agency Show of Force/Solidarity Patrol.
Other activities included commissioning of 20-Apartment Officers’ Transit Accommodation; commissioning of Rehabilitated Parade Ground at the division’s headquarters.
Among dignitaries at the ceremony were the Chief Host and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State and top government personalities, traditional rulers and the business community.
