An Italian, (Blessing Fernando) who masterminded the kidnapping of one Elohor Owhologbo of No 7 Owhibior Street, Owhologbo in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, on Thursday 26th May 2017, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command.
Before his arrest, the Italian along with three other members of his gang had collected the sum of N250, 000 being the first installment ransom payment for the victim of the kidnap while the gang was awaiting the payment of another sum of N200, 000 ransom.
Disclosing how the Italian implemented his criminal act, a statement from Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Ibrahim Zanna in a statement entitled ‘Rescue of Kidnap Victim/Arrest of Suspect’ said, “Following the kidnap of one Elohor Owhologbo, a 35 year old female of No. 7 Owhologbo, Isoko North on Thursday 26th May, 2017, at about 10.30am around First Bank Ozoro.

“The Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad SAKCCS tracked the location of the victim to Okpe in Isoko North where she was kept and the victim was rescued on Sunday 28th May 2017 at about 8pm.
“One Blessing Fernando, aged 50 years of No. 5 Okolobi Street, Erevue Quarters, Ozoro (Italian Father and Nigerian Mother) was arrested while three other members of the gang escaped.
“The suspect had initially collected the sum of N250, 000.00 from the victim and was demanding for additional N200, 000.00 before she was rescued.
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. Case of murder is under investigation
Also, the Police in Delta another kidnapping kingpin, one Chimezie Alex who organized the abduction of the mother of Senator Emmanuel Aguriavwhodo in 2015 and has been on the run since then, have been arrested.
He was arrested by Tactical team nine of Owawa Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
