Delta Police in Massive Crackdown on Criminal Elements; Smash Kidnapping/Robbery Gangs; Arrest Rapist/Murderers; Recover Stolen Vehicles.

In several daring operations to rid Delta State of criminal elements, some of which extended to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory and Kaduna as well as Edo States, the Police in Delta State have smashed notorious armed robbery and kidnapping gangs and recovered arms from the gangs.

Also the Police rescue kidnapped victims, recovered snatched vehicles belonging to kidnapped victims and arrested rapists and kidnappers who murdered their victim.

The breakthrough in the arrests, followed the order giving by the unyielding Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Ibrahim Zanna who vowed that no matter where they run to criminals would be pursued and brought to book.

Giving detail of the arrests, a statement from the CP’s office said, “On Thursday October 19, 2017, acting on a distress call from Control Room, Asaba, that one Miss Choice Nimfas 16 years was kept hostage in a room by one Eric Eze 28 years, of Bright Future School, Off Okpanam Road, Asaba, a team of SAKCCS led by DSP Cosmas Anyanwu swung into action and rescued the victim.

The kidnap suspect and rapist whose antecedent was blown open by a Good Samaritan, was arrested.

Also, as a follow up to a case of kidnapping, of one Mr. Peter Emajemite Williams who was kidnapped on Tuesday 3rd of October 2017 and rescued on Tuesday 10th October 2017, the Police based on confession by a suspect arrested, one Jonathan Christian Akpojotor swung into action.

A team of SAKCCS led by Inspector Alim Bakari extended investigation to Benin in Edo State and arrested one Peter Okoh 37 years of 197 Sapele Road who allegedly received four kidnapped victims vehicles from the gang and the vehicles were recovered from the suspect.

The suspect who had been hiding the under the guise of a car dealer revealed where the cars were hidden. Cars recovered include an unregistered Toyota Camry and a Toyota Celica with registration no. GBZ 298 TT.

In a similar development, a notorious kidnapper, Bennard Umukoro 25 years, of Opp. MTN office by Edosa Park, Sapele-Warri Road, who serves as the gangs arms conveyor and custodian was arrested at about 7pm on Thursday 19th October 2017by SAKSSC operatives led by ASP Amos Samuel at Osubi area of Warri.

The suspect who attempted to escape was shot on the right leg and is assisting the police in investigation efforts to recover other victim’s vehicles, the gang’s arms and other members of the gang still in hiding.

Similarly, following the kidnap of one Best Ifeunu at his shop in Ovwian, Aladja on Thursday 7th September 2017 at about 3 am, a combined team of SAKCCS operatives and Ughelli Vigilantes led by Sgt Mahmud Najimu arrested one Collins Amorbore aka England, of 24 Emekpa Street, Ughelli.

The suspect who was arrested for his complicity in the kidnap confessed to belong to a 4-man gang that kidnapped the victim who is still being kept hostage. He is assisting the police in the investigation.

Also, following the abduction and murder of Onyemara Christian on Tuesday 3rd October, beating him to a pulp by his kidnappers, releasing him on Wednesday October 11, 2017 and his eventual death on Thursday 12th October 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Asaba, the Police led by SP Owa Oyibo handed over the suspected murderer to SAKCCS operatives led by Sgt Clinton Oseji.

The suspect, one Onyeka Festus Netor 25 years is from Ogbe Isogba quarters, Ekuku-Agbor.

A Fleeing member of the gang who murdered Christian Onyemara, Netor was arrested at about 1am at Ekuku-Agbor by Ika Anti-Cult group who handed him over to Supol Owa Oyinbo. He confessed to the crime and is currently helping the police with further investigations.

Furthermore, “Sequel to the manhunt for some kidnapping suspects who specialize in kidnapping and robbing victims of their vehicles in Delta state and environs, the Eagle Net Police team led by ASP Shehu Mainasara were detailed to Abuja and Kaduna state respectively where two kidnappers’ receivers of the gang were arrested.

The suspects are Frankfurt Orwell Jac-Halla 44 years of Yola and Joshua Amanbe 34 years of Makurdi. Efforts are in progress for recovery of the various snatched vehicles and possible arrest of other gang members.
