The Delta State Police command has made a major breakthrough in its determination to checkmate hoodlums and armed robbers, with the arrest of an arms supplier to criminal gangs in the state.
Wanted arms supplier to kidnappers and herdsmen causing mayhem in several parts of the state, Musa Mohammed alias ‘Musa 1,000’ was arrested at Asaba Market on Thursday June 1, 2017.
This was made in a statement from the office of the Commissioner of Police; CP Ibrahim Zanna entitled ‘Arrest of Notorious kidnapping/illegal arms dealer/supplier of arms and ammunition to kidnap syndicates.
It said, “On Thursday June 1st 2017, at about 4.45pm, one Musa Muhammed aka ‘Musa 1000’ aged 56 years, a native of Dutsenma Town in Katsina State but resident in Cable Point area of Asaba, Delta State who has been on the Command Watch-list was arrested.
“He was found complicit in most kidnappings and related to the supply of arms and ammunition to herdsmen and kidnapping syndicates.
“He has been on the run but was arrested by a combined team of Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad operatives led by Inspector Julius Robinson, and Eagle Vigilante group, Abraka Market, Asaba.
The arms supplier has been handed over to SARS for further investigation.
