Ex-Head of State, Gen Abdulsalami hail’s Buratai on NMS training resuscitation; at Prize Giving Day ceremony

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar has commended the effort of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Burutai for full resuscitation of military training at Nigerian Military School (NMS), Zaria.

He made the commendation during the recent Speech and Prize Giving ceremony of the school held at the weekend as part of the activities lined up for forthcoming passing out parade of 61 graduating boys scheduled for next weekend.

He stated that it was most desirable of the federal government policy to have well trained members of the Nigerian Armed Forces in order to curb and address the contemporary national security challenges.

“I therefore endorse the current trend and efforts to reposition the Nigerian Military School for better and purposeful service delivery in line with the intention from inception.

“I would like to encourage the Commandant to remain resolute in the application and adoption of emerging global best practices in the training of the boys which should be in line with Army Headquarters and Nigerian Army Education Corps training activities,” he said

However, he warned the prospective old boys of the school to be good ambassadors after passing out.

He reminded them of the task ahead, adding “You will be saddled with the responsibilities of providing junior leadership in different capacities in the Nigerian Army. You are to contribute your quota to support and even enhance the global reputation the Nigerian Army has acquired due to the display of valor, bravery, and resilience by its personnel over the years.
