The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has commended the Nigerian military and the Multinational Joint Task Force MNJTF for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in the Northeast of Nigeria.

Global Chief of Operations Field Security Service of the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees, Mr Robert Macdonald gave the commendation when he led other representatives on a courtesy visit to the Commander Sector 3 OP HADIN and Multinational Joint Task Force, Maj Gen Godwin M Mutkut at the Sector Headquarters Monguno on Tuesday 14 June 2022.
He applauded the Sector in ensuring peaceful atmosphere in Moguno and security of the locals and Non -Governmental Organizations in its areas of responsibility and solicited for the sustainability of the civil- military cooperation between the Sector and Non-Governmental Organizations for more achievement in humanitarian service in Monguno.
Responding,Major General GM Mutkut, promised to ensure the sustainability of the existing good civil- military cooperation between the Sector, locals and Non-Governmental Organizations within the Sector Areas of Responsibility.
Other senior Staff of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees at the visit were, Senior Security Coordinator of UNHCR Regional Bureau for West and Central Africa Dakar, Mr Elias Forsung and UNCHR Senior Field Officer Mr Giovanni.
