The Police in Borno on Friday disclosed that three separate suicide attacks occurred on Thursday and Friday will all the attempts successfully foiled.
While two of the attempted attacks were foiled by dogs, the other attack failed as the bomber killed herself.
A statement signed by DSP Victor Isuku, PPRO Borno Command, said, “On Thursday 3rd August 2017, at about 11.22pm, a female suicide bomber detonated IED strapped on her body near a joint security guard location in Molai general area, killing herself alone.

“Today, Friday 4th August 2017 at about 5.15am, two suicide bombers, male and female, attempted to gain entry into the temporary settlement area for rehabilitated leprosy patients within the premises of Molai general hospital, in the outskirt of Maiduguri township, along Maiduguri /Damboa highway.
“They were prevented by the persistent barking and attacks from dogs in the area.
“In the process, they hurriedly detonated IEDs strapped to their bodies, killing themselves.
“Police EOD teams were promptly drafted to scenes, to sanitize and render the area and its surrounding safe.
“No other casualty recorded. Normalcy has since been restored.”
