Ebonyi CJ Grants Bail to 22 Inmates Discharges 16 from Prisons

The Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Justice Alloy Nwankwo, in line with the efforts of the Federal Governments efforts towards prisons decongestion, exercised his judicial powers by granting bail to 22 inmates and discharged 16 during his last goal delivery exercise conducted in all the prisons in Ebonyi state command.

The Controller of Prison Ebonyi state command, Emilia Adobi Oputa in her address appreciated the Chief Judge and prayed him to make it a more frequent exercise, as it will avail more inmates who deserves freedom to be granted same.

She also admonished the freed inmates to reciprocate this kind gesture by turning a new leaf as law abiding citizens, shunning all forms and acts of criminality and lawlessness. She also encouraged them to implement the skills which they have acquired from our inmates training and productivity programs to secure a very productive means of livelihood for themselves and their family.

The Chief Judge in his response assured the Controller of his commitment towards this noble course of decongesting our prisons, and promised to repeat his visit soon for same purpose.
