Ebonyi Police nab notorious Armed Robbers; as Police move 200 officers to Ebonyi\ C’River boundary communities

The Police in Ebonyi State said it arrested two notorious robbery suspects at Ezzamgbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jude Madu said the two robbery suspects, Oge, 18, and Emeka, 20, were arrested by men of Ohaukwu Police Division in the area in collaboration with the youths and men of vigilante in the village.


He said two locally-made double-barreled pistols, Army uniform with blood stains, two iron cutters, one saw-blade, two machetes, one hammer, one dagger, one gas cooker, one laptop, two ladies motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.
 
Also recovered are two 950 power generators, one Samsung handset, one standing fan, two speakers, one iron bar, one CD player, torch light and a bag containing some clothes.
 Madu said, “Also arrested is a cult leader in the same area by name Chidi. He is 19 years old.
 
He was arrested with an axe while other of his members fled on sighting the police.
 
“Efforts are on to arrest the remaining members of the syndicate” he said.
 
 On the land disputes between Ofunakpa Inyimagu community in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Nsobo community in Obubara Local Government Area of Cross River State, the police spokesman said “Police has taken necessary measures to restore normalcy in the areas.
 
He said that “About 200 policemen are still stationed in these communities to protect lives and properties.”
