Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has for the umpteenth time lamented the increasing hardship Nigerians are enduring as a result of the appointment, as Ministers, former State Chief Executives, who performed badly or plundered their state’s commonwealth to the detriment of the masses.
The CNPP in equivocal terms called on President Buhari to sack the ministers.
A statement signed by the Secretary General of CNPP, Chief Willy Ezugwu, the umbrella body of all the registered political parties and associations in the country also disclosed that “a few of the ministers are already positioning themselves as running mates to some presidential aspirants preparatory for the forthcoming general election even when they have supervised further rot of the nation’s infrastructure.
It reads, “In as much as we are not concerned about the political aspiration of individuals in the present government, we are worried that the obvious incompetence of former governors who are serving as Ministers has worsened hardship citizens are faced with daily.
“The selfish interest of these political cabals around the corridors of power is now telling on all Nigerians, such that the attendant austerity measures being taken by citizens are not giving them any succour.
“What do you expect when you employ never-do-well managers to run the nation’s critical sectors?

“For instance, the exclusion of the South East in the $5.851 billion China Exim Bank loan request submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Senate earlier in May this year was supervised by one of Buhari’s minister.
“Any competent Minister that understands the gains of the project as a major boost to commerce and non-oil sector of the economy would have convinced the President to stick to the rail master plan.
“The Transport Minister did not care about Nigeria without oil as he lacked foresight.
“Here is a man (minister) who has a history of abandoned projects.
“He was unable to complete a few kilometers of monorail project embarked upon by his administration.
“For eight years, despite huge annual budget for the rail project by his then administration, the minister left the project at less than 30% completion.
“No wander the Minister has been unable to get started any of the much talked about rail projects of this administration but was quick to commission the Abuja-Kaduna rail project done by the previous government.
“At the appropriate time, the CNPP will make its position and line of action on the many corruption indictments of some of the past state executives serving as Ministers”.
“It is common knowledge that these corruption allegations were without charges and have since been swept under the carpet but not forever.
“We therefore call on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack all the underperforming Ministers in his cabinet to ameliorate suffering the masses who are now gnashing their teeth in regret of casting their votes for him in 2015”, the CNPP further said.
