Edo Group Hails President Tinubu over Appointment Dr Philip Ugbodaga as Chief Medical Director, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Benin City.

 

The Afenmai Peoples Descendants Association (APDA), a social political Organization from Edo North Senatorial District has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the confirmation of Dr Philip Ugbodaga as the substantive Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic hospital, Benin City.

In a press statement, the President Mshc (Dr) Kennedy Izuagbe and the General secretary Mr Lucky Anyia poured encomiums on the President for confirming the appointment despite orchestrated efforts to deny the Afenmai son the much deserved appointment.

The Statement said, “Politicization of critical appointments like that of a Medical Director on the basis of some primordial sentiments at this age and time of our nationhood is a reflection of the rot in our national life that has continued to seriously undermine and challenge our quest for development.

“A seasoned, tested and trusted Medical Doctor with a rich pedigree as Dr Philip Ugbodaga is obviously a square peg in a square hole in line with his appointment and confirmation as the Medical Director of the National Orthopedic hospital Benin”.

The group noted that core experience of Dr Philip Ugbodaga in the medical profession spans over 17 years touching on several key sectors of the medical profession.

“This includes the role of Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Central Hospital, Benin City, Edo State, Medical Director, Central Hospital, Benin City, Edo State, Resident Doctor, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin, Dental Officer, Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Irrua, Edo State, among other key positions.

“This is in addition to a proven track record of administrative acumen Dr Ugbodaga has always brought to bear on his assignments and job responsibilities.

“As a Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Dr Ugbodaga distinguished himself to the admiration of all.

“With a rich pedigree as this, it is obvious that the National Orthopedic Hospital, Benin City will gain its pride of place in no distant future where excellence and professionalism shall reign supreme.
