EID-KABIR ONSLAUGHT: Delta Police Arrest Student Armed Robber/Other Robbery Suspects, Nab Kidnappers, Cultists, Recover Arms and Ammunition.

The Delta State Police Command, in its determination to make life unpalatable for criminals terrorizing communities and innocent law abiding citizens, in surprise operations during Eid-El-Kabir festivities, raided several hideouts and dens, arrested kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists while recovering arms and ammunition.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zanna while confirming the arrests said “At about 7.15pm on Saturday, a Safer Highways Patrol Team stationed at Effurun-Warri road, while on stop and search, intercepted a Commercial Jeta Car with reg. no Delta EFR 253 RUN.

 Following the conduct of a search on the persengers of the car, one Great Itakabo of Patani villagein Delta State and a student of Oghara Polytechnic, aged 20 years was arrested with a locally made double barrel gun concealed under his inner shirt.

Also, on the Sunday, 3rd of September 2017, at about 6.35pm, operatives of SARS while conducting stop and search at DBS Asaba, stopped a Tricycle with Reg. no UDD 408 QK with 3 occupants.

In the process of searching, one of the occupants ran and escaped. One locally made double barrel short gun loaded with two live cartridges was recovered from Samson Jimoh aged 22yrs of No. 5 Idibe Street, Cabel Point Asaba and the rider One Ikechukwu Onwumele aged 41yrs of 19 Michael Agede, Bosac, Asaba, was equally arrested.

Furthermore, on Sunday 3rd September, at about 9.30pm, criminal hideouts were raided by the police at Ekiugbo in UGHELLI, in a combined operation with vigilante men from the area.

The following suspected armed robbers; PAUL OKOR 21 YRS of Saniko Street Agbarho and KEVWE ENAKPOMU 22 yrs of Saniko street Agbarha and a locally made gun was recovered from them.

The suspects confessed that they came to the area from Agbara Otor to rob people of their handsets and money.

In a similar operation, another suspect, Mordi Destiny was arrested for unlawful possession of a gun. His arrest happened on the 2nd of September 2017, at about 4.40pm by Nuskwa Police Division with cut to size gun.

On the arrest of the Kidnappers, the Police said, “As a follow up to the case of kidnap of one Miss Ruth Edenogbata who was abducted on the 19th of July being investigated by SAKCCS, on Sunday the 3rd   of September 2017, at about 3.30pm, SAKCCS operatives arrested one of the fleeing gang members named Henry Akadhe 24yrs of Umuyegbu Str Illah.

 Also arrested was a kidnap suspect while the victim’s phone was recovered.

The Police said, “As a follow up to a case of attempted kidnap of one Mr. Patrick Azi on Saturday September 2017, the police arrested one Ikechukwu Ikediashi aged 41yrs at about 8.30pm of Behind Konwea Plaza Area, Asaba.

He was arrested by SAKCCS operatives led by Inspector Celestine Beye in possession with the victims I Phone 5. The suspect is assisting the police in investigation.

The Police said suspected cultists were arrested at Ovwian Aladja following a tip-off.

It said, “On Saturday 2nd September, at about 1.30pm, Police attached to Ovwian Aladja, acting on information, carried out an operation in conjunction with Ujevwu Community Vigilante and arrested 6 suspected members of Arrow Barger Confraternity terrorizing  the area.

The suspects are Johnbull Omolok 18yrs, ERNEST JOHNBUL 20 yrs and 4 others all of Ujevwu community of same age range, with daggars and jackknifes
