Enugu Police Command uniting stakeholders for safe/secured environment with sports

The Enugu state command of the Nigeria police force on Saturday 20/7/19 conducted its monthly sporting exercise tagged jog/walk for life and Agility for its officers and men, sister security Agencies, corporate bodies and other relevant stake holders in the state.

The exercise which comes up every third Saturday’s of every month is organized by the Public Relations department of the command in conjunction with the sports unit of the command has lived up to its billing as it keeps uniting relevant stakeholders and other security agencies as well as helping them to attain fitness and healthiness of mind and body just as the number of participants keep on increasing.

Addressing participants at the state headquarters before the take off of the exercise, the state commissioner of Police, Suleiman Balarabe represented by the sports officer of the command SP Ebere Amaraizu and who also is the police public Relations of the command maintained that the importance of sports in human body cannot be overemphasized as it helps to inculcate discipline in man, fitness and healthiness of mind and body and further pointed out that it helps also to unite man.

He further stated that the sporting exercise is community oriented policing based as it is used to reach out to police communities/stakeholders thereby increasing the trust and partnership rate.

No fewer than two thousand participants participated in this month jog/walk exercise.

It was gathered that participants gathered at the state headquarters Enugu in the early hours of the day and after opening formalities and proceedings moved from Leck street to Reach way connecting Temple Avenue and Okpara Avenue then through Coal City Estate to Colliery and connecting Kingsway to Prisons axis and linking Akwata and CIC and Ziks Avenue and back to Holy Ghost and to the headquarters through Okpara Avenue .
