FCT Police arrests 3-man ATM Swap Syndicate; 4-man gang over #3million Filling Station robbery & 2-man one chance gang

Operatives of the FCT Police Command have busted several gangs terrorizing Abuja citizens and arrested suspects including a notorious ATM fraud gang who illegally withdrew the sum of #950,000 from an Alhaji’s account.

Also, a 4-man armed robbery gang who specialize in robbing Filling Stations was nabbed after they attacked a filling station and made away with #3million sales recorded for the day.

Also, the Police successfully arrested a 2-man One Chance gang who specialize in terrorizing unsuspecting passengers in the FCT Metropolis particularly Gwarimpa, Mabushi and Dutse Alhaji areas.

Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Bala Ciroma while making the disclosures at a briefing in Abuja, said, the ATM fraudsters, Ernest Mensah from Anambra State, Obiuwevbu Ogheneovo from Delta State and Urunmatsonma Hendrix from Delta state on the 30th of March 2019, illegally withdrew the sum of #950, 000 from one Alhaji Usman Ahmadu’s account at Gwarimpa.

The suspects were arrested when the Alhaji reported the unauthorized withdrawal to the Police and detectives on getting to the Bank, got photograph and other details with which the criminals were tracked and arrested.

Asked how they got the pin number of the Alhaji, the suspected who confessed to the crime said the gang leader stood directly behind the Alhaji on the 29th of March when he went to make a withdrawal.

He said they swapped the pin number of the Alhaji with theirs, before going over to a petrol station where one of their accomplice used POS to transfer the #950,000 into their account.

Consequently, the Police arrested 5 fuel attendants for complicity in the criminal act.

Regarding the Filling station robbers, the CP said, “On the 5th of May 2019, at about 8pm, the Manager of a filling station located in Lugbe was taking the sum of #3million to the bank on a motorbike when the motorcycle was ambushed by 4 armed men who pushed the motorcycle and dispossessed her of the money.

Other motorcycle riders in the area, who thought it was an accident, chased the vehicle carrying the suspects and in the process, the tyre of the vehicle pulled out and the car was demobilized.

The suspects then ran into the bush around Phyakassa village. Police operatives used the plate number of the towed vehicle to track the owner who is a member of the gang and was on the way with other gang members to Jabi for another operation on the 6th of May 2019
Suspects arrested are Sunday Monday from Kogi Sate, Isaac Kiri from Rivers State, Alex Enyame from Imo State and their juju-man, and Abdul Usman from Kogi State

The One Chance gang suspects, Fatai Idris from Kogi State and Emeka Ozemina from Enugu State were arrested when Police operatives on patrol notice passengers in a vehicle struggling with the suspects around Next Cash and Carry.

“Our operatives explained that when they noticed how suspicious the vehicle movement was, they decided to block it and the victims were rescued.

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they are a one chance gang that operates around Dutse Alhaji, Gwarimpa, Mabushi and Next Cash and Carry.
