Anti-crime patrol team attached to Gwarimpa division of the Federal Capital Police Command has foiled an armed robbery attempt by some suspected hoodlums as a result of their quick intervention.
According to a statement signed by ASP Usen Omorodion, PRO of the command, “The incident occurred at about 9.30hrs on the 29th June 2017 at Hub plaza 69 Road Gwarimpa when two armed men attacked a middle aged man and attempted to disposes him of his valuables.
“A rumpus ensued when the victim refused to hand over his valuables to the hoodlums thereby attracting the attention of a patriotic citizen who placed a distress call to the police.
The anti-crime team responded swiftly to the distress call, on arrival at the scene, the hoodlums sighting the anti-crime team dropped one pistol and a live cartridge and fled to a nearby bush.
“No item was stolen and victim wasn’t injured.

Exhibits were recovered to the station, while surveillance teams are on the trail of the suspects.
Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command has informed residents of the Federal Capital Territory especially those living around Nyanya, Jikwoyi and Karshi axis that a shooting training routine will hold at the Police Outdoor Shooting Range, Karshi.
The range practice exercise will hold between 1st and 8th July 2017 from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Usen said, “Sequel to above, members of the public are enjoined not to panic as a result of the gunshots that will emanate from the range exercise.
Residents are also advised to stay away from the area for the duration of the exercise.
