The FCT Police Command in deploying proactive crime prevention measures to fight crime in the Federal Capital Territory has arrested an armed robbery suspect whose syndicate specializes in robbing their victims at gunpoint of phones, handbags and other valuables.
The suspect one Joseph Okanga 33 years of Karimajiji was intercepted and arrested in the early hours of Sunday 30th July 2017 at about 5:45am by eagle eyed police patrol team attached to Wuye Division on duty at House on the Rock Junction.
A statement by DSP Anjuguri Manzah said, “The arrest was activated after some persons raised the alarm that the suspect now in police custody with his cohort (at large) robbed a lady of her handbag.

“Following the swift response of the police patrol team, the suspect was arrested after a hot chase while his cohorts escaped.
“Frantic efforts have deployed to arrest his fleeing cohort.
“Exhibits recovered from the suspect include, one locally made pistol, one live cartridge and one female handbag”.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Musa Kimo has reiterated the commitment of the Command under his supervision to continue to deploy proactive crime fighting measures that will aid it to record more successes in the fight against crime and the protection of lives and property in FCT.
