FCT Police raid criminal hideouts, arrest 4 armed robbers after shoot-out in Abuja.

The Police in Abuja have raided criminal hideouts and arrested four (4) dare-devil armed robbers after a fierce shoot out with several gang members terrorizing residents of the Federal Capital City.

FCT Police Commissioner, Musa Kimo has also warned criminals to either repent and turn new leaf or relocate from Abuja to avoid tough times from his men.

During the shoot-out, two police officers sustained injuries while some of the armed robbers escaped with bullet wounds as evidenced by their blood stains.

Giving details of how the armed robbers were nabbed, spokesman of FCT Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Anjuguri Manzah said, “The 3 armed robbery suspects were arrested at Apo district of the city. Two (2) locally made pistols and two (2) live cartridges, one toy gun and some other exhibits were recovered by vigilant police operatives attached to Apo Division who intercepted the suspects on Friday 31st March, 2017 while responding to a distress call.

“The arrested suspects include: Abdullahi Usman, Hassan Umar and Isah Kassim.

“Similarly, on Friday, eagle eyed police operatives attached to Bwari Division acting on tip off raided a suspected criminal hide-out at Garam where one suspect was arrested, two (2) locally made pistols and other exhibits were recovered.

He said efforts are being intensified to arrest the principal suspect who is now at large.

The CP has also ordered that the suspects in both cases should be transferred to the Command Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.

“In another development, Police operatives on duty at Tunga Maje on Friday 31 March 2017 about 7:30pm had a fierce gun confrontation with some dare-devil hoodlums who escaped the scene with varying degree of gun wound, living two casualties on the part of the Police.

Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the CP who personally visited the scene ordered massive man-hunt to track down the assailants.

Commending the dedication, resilience and professionalism exhibited by the Police operatives from Apo and Bwari Division in foiling the robbery attacks, the CP assured FCT residents that the Command will not renege in fulfilling its constitutional mandate of protecting lives and property.
