FCT Police Smash Notorious Robbery Gang Terrorizing Abuja Motorists with Stones along Abuja Airport road.

The FCT Police Command have smashed a notorious criminal gang who specialize in using sharp and heavy stones to terrorize motorists along the Abuja airport road at night.

By throwing such dangerous stones, several unsuspecting vehicle owners have experienced burst tyre and damages, after which members of his gang will rob their victims of cash and valuables.

The suspect, Godwin Edith Samson is also notorious for robbing motorists around the City Gate of Abuja using such stones.  

Commissioner of Police FCT, Sadiq Abubakar Bello who disclosed the arrest during a parade of several criminal suspects on Tuesday, noted that the said Edith Samsom operates mostly at night from 9pm adding that “many people have lost their cash, phones, laptops and other valuables to these desperate criminals”.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect was an ex-convict who served his jail term at Keffi Prisons for the offence of phone theft” the CP said.

CP Bello also paraded 4 armed robbery suspects and car jackers as well as a recovered Black coloured Ford Jeep reg. NO 184 RE and one I-Phone 5.

He said the robbery suspects were arrested by operatives of the FCT Command in conjunction with SARS operatives from Kaduna State after the gang robbed the Ford car from the owner at gunpoint in Gwarimpa.

The suspect were said to have stormed the victim’s apartment on Sunday 22nd October 2017 at about 11pm, tied his gateman and took the car away.

One of the suspects, Joshua Nayelwa who was a former security man to the victim, was arrested at Gwarimpa on Monday 23rd October 2017 whereas his cohorts were intercepted and arrested at Kaduna in collaboration with SARS operatives. The victim’s car has been recovered”   

Other members of the gang are Solomon Yakubu, Moses Marshal Moses and Emmanuel Gambo.

A 4-man gang of phone and handbag snatchers was also paraded for severally snatching phones, handbags and other valuables at night from victims around Galadimawa roundabout and Car Wash.

He said one Manu Abdullahi was arrested when he attacked his victim with cutlass and robbed his victim of his Infinix phone.

Similarly, on Thursday 27th October 2017, at about 9.25pm Police operatives foiled an attempt by one Mosilimu Abba to rob his victim of her phone around FHA Car Wash, Lugbe. The knife used by the suspect has been recovered.

Other suspects arrested for similar offences include Yahaya Musa at FHA Car Wash, when he attacked a victim with a knife and one Shagari Ibrahim who attacked his victim at Barnex junction and attempted to rob him of his phone and other valuables.

CP Bello said they will all be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.
