The Kogi State Police Command has beefed up security with the deployment of tactical and intelligence operatives to the Felele area of Lokoja which houses the Federal University, Lokoja as well as other communities following recent robbery attacks on the community.
The robbery attacks was said to have created panic and anxiety particularly among students of the university many of whom are living off campus in the neighbouring communities.

A statement by the Command’s spokesman, SP William Ovye Aya said, “Consequent upon the Robberies that took place in Felele, the Commissioner of Police Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand Onuoha has assured the Community as well as the Students of the Federal University Lokoja of their safety.
“The CP has deployed Tactical Team to the area for intelligence gathering, visibility policing to reassure the Community of their safety.
“He equally urges the people of Felele to cooperate with the Police and other Security Agencies and volunteer credible information on the activities of criminal elements within Felele axis.
“The Commissioner of Police assures of the Command’s unwavering commitment in ensuring adequate Security of lives and property.”
