FOC CNC ASSURES ADEQUATE SECURITY FOR ECSRAVOS OPERATIONS; AS MONARCH OF ISONI SEEKS NAVY’S HELP TO ARREST KIDNAPPING

The Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command (FOC) Rear Admiral Abubakar Al-Hassan has assured the management of Chevron, which is a platform under Forward Operating Base, Escravos (FOC ESCRAVOS) of adequate security necessary for the success of their operations.

The FOC made this remarks during his maiden familiarization to Units and Establishments under his command.

During a dialogue with the management of the Chevron the General Manager security of Chevron (Commander Bankole Rtd) informed the FOC of the company’s efforts to get a dedicated security boat for the security of their platform and operations.

He said the purpose is to give adequate security to ESCRAVOS operations.

Admiral Al-Hassan, having observed that the location of Chevron inhabits critical national assets of Nigeria promised to do everything within the ambit of the law to make sure their request is granted.

He, however, enjoined Chevron management to always avail Headquarter Central Naval Command with timely and relevant information and intelligence that would guarantee a robust synergy between Central Naval Command and Chevron management.

The Chevron management also used the occasion to commend the leadership of Forward Operation Base ESCRAVOS (FOB ESCRAVOS) for its timely intervention to issues of piracy and other criminalities perpetrated in the area.

The FOC was accompanied during the visit by Principal Staff Officers of the Command including Commander Nigerian Navy Ship Delta (NNS DELTA) Commodore Ibrahim Dewu.

Meanwhile, the traditional rulerh of Isoni Community of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, His Royal Majesty JI Igbagara has made a passionate appeal to the FOC Central Naval Command, to checkmate the crime of Kidnapping in his domain.

He made this appeal during the medical outreach of Headquarters Central Naval Command which took place at Isoni Community.

The Monarch told the FOC that kidnapping was rife in the community and appealed to the FOC to impose curfew from 7pm to 7am.

Admiral Al-Hassan assured the monarch that the Central Naval Command would do everything within the ambit of law to guarantee safety of lives and property in the community.

He reiterated that central Naval Command would continue to give aid to civil authority in other to assuage the people’s pains and also to bring the people closer to the Navy.

Several people of Isoni Community and environments benefited from free medical outreach of the Command. A lot of doctors and nurses from the Command has a hectic day attending to the people.

The medical outreach was first of its kind under Rear Admiral Abubakar Al-Hassan.
