Police in Borno State said on Wednesday 14th March 2018, at about 8. 25pm, 2 female suicide bombers in an attempt to infiltrate into Alkaranmanti area, after Giwa Barracks, were intercepted by security operatives on duty.
The suicide bombers in the process, hurriedly detonated the IED strapped to their bodies killing themselves and imjuring 9 others.
A statement by Police Spokesman, DSP Joseph Kwaji said (EOD) Explosive Ordinance Department have rendered the area safe.
Kwaji said the corpses and injured victims have been evacuated to the hospital while normalcy has been restored in the area.
