The Federal Special Anti Robbery Squads (FSARS) in Cross River State has rescued a kidnap victim, Uyime Akaniyene Udo.
The victim was kidnapped on Saturday night at 8 Miles while using his Camry car with registration no BDG 536 CD to convey passengers.
Police sources said four suspected criminals who boarded the vehicle pretending to be passengers in the process, kidnapped the victim and took him to where he was later rescued.
Confirming the rescue, the FSARS Commander, Mr Victor James Usang said that the command on 17th November 2018, at about 0910 hours, upon a tip off went after the kidnappers.

“I and my team on a tip off raided an uncompleted building at Saint Patrick Junction where one Uyime Akaniyene Udo ‘M’ of No 213 MCC Road was rescued. Two of the suspects Richard Ephraim and Benjamin Ikara and the other were arrested, though one escaped.
“The victim was kidnapped on Saturday night at 8 Miles while driving and trying to get passengers. The kidnappers entered his vehicle with registration no BDG 536 CD pretending to be passengers in the process, the victim was kidnapped and taken to where he was later rescued” he said.
“Items recovered from the suspects included one locally made pistol, 4 cartridges, charms and one camry car belonging to the victim: he stated.
The Commander added that, “They took the victim to an uncompleted building at opposite Mammy Market along Saint Patrick College junction, the road that leads to Abattoir.
“If you go down, the first street on your left was where the man was taken to.”
