GOC 3 Div Decorates Amadusun, Eze Others Brigadier Generals; task then on solutions to security challenges.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3Division, Nigerian Army, Jos, Maj. Gen. Benjamin Ahanotu, on Thursday tasked newly promoted Brigadier Generals and Colonels to apply their strategic expertise in the application of solutions to the security challenges confronting the nation.

Major General Ahanotu who himself was decorated with his rank by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General TY Buratai on Tuesday, charge the seven Colonels who were decorated with the new ranks of Brigadier Generals in the Division to show more commitment and dedication to the nation’s security and peaceful co-existence.


Noting that the country was currently facing lots of security challenges which security agencies were trained to redress, the GOC said, “Your new rank comes with an added responsibility to think and offer solutions to ending the challenges we are facing.

 

“You need to work very hard because it only through your hard work, dedication and commitment that will stand you out for promotion to another rank,” he urged.

 

The Special Guest at the decoration ceremony, Maj. Gen. Oluwaseun Oshinowo (rtd), former Commander, Special Task Force (STF) advised the new generals to change their attitudes from what it was when they we’re colonels.

 

“You are now administrators and not commanders and if you were not a good administrator, you had better learn now because people will be looking up to you.

 

“Start preparing for your retirement because the rank you have been decorated with today is the beginning of the end”.

 

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Brig. Gen. Lawan Ibrahim, stated that they would take the advises seriously in the discharge of their duties

 

He appreciated the Commander in Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, President Mohammadu Buhari for their promotion and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai and the GOC for their mentorship and guidance.

 

The newly promoted Brigadiers General include; Joe Amadasun, Umar Babangida, Stanley Eze and Eno Eyong.
