GOC 7 Div takes Media Team on tour of Sector 1 in North East; Urges Troops to Sustain fight until insurgents are finally wiped out.

The Nigeria Army has organized a media tour to North East part of the country with the aim of ascertaining the level of performance and commitment of troops in bringing down the activities of the Boko Haram as well as the level of destruction impacted on communities.
The team led by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa, which arrived Maiduguri International Airport on Wednesday 5th February, 2020 at exactly 1:40pm from Abuja had both  team comprised different media organizations.
On Thursday the 6th of February, 2020 the Acting GOC 7 Division Brig. Gen Abdullahi Khalifa Ibrahim led the media team with other senior officers under his Area of responsibility including Kondugha, Bama, Gwoza, Banki and Madagali.
Brig-General Ibrahim while addressing the Troops of 144 Battalion in Madagali in Adamawa state who showed great morale charged the troops to sustain the offensive on the Boko Haram insurgents and Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP terrorists by conducting their duties professionally.
He assured them that the Chief of Army Staff Lt.General Tukur Yusuf  Buratai was solidly behind them and he is doing everything to ensure their welfare is improved. 
“You should continue to be motivated, maintain the momentum and the fight against the insurgent terrorists until you clear them out anywhere they are hibernating on our territory.
The media visit commenced from Maiduguri to Bama where they had an interaction with the community in Bama market, from Bama the team proceed to Banki junction the road that leads to Cameroon were we had interaction with commuters.
The team was showed the access road to Sambisa forest and the late Lt. Col Abu Ali shooting range.
From Bama to Gwoza while ascertaininh the level of destruction done by the Boko Haram , the Acting GOC 7 Division conducted the team round a particular bridge destroyed by Boko Haram in Limankara in Gwoza Local government area,
The Team moved to Madagali, where the Commanding Officer Lt. col US Abdulsalam explained the efforts by his troops in repelling some of attacks carried out by the Boko Haram insurgents. 
Brig Gen Ibrahim advice the troops to be focussed in making sure the activities of Boko Haram is brought to an end.
Some of the residents as well as the commuters commended the Nigeria army for restoring peace in their area.
In his brief comment, Abubakar Muhammad a resident of Bama commended the Nigeria army for restoring peace in Bama and its environs.
Brig. Gen AG Mahmuda Brigade Commander  26 Task Force 26 Brigade stated that some of the challenges facing his area of responsibility were those of IEDs.
The major challenges we are facing is that of improvised devices that are always put in place by Boko Haram Terrorists but we are always on top of the situation where by our explosive ordinance device team always locate and detonate or remove the IED that’s been planted by Boko Haram.
