The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu has decorated the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of 7 Division, Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Jurist Adam, with his new rank badge of Army Warrant Officer (AWO).
The newly decorated AWO is among beneficiaries of 2017 Nigerian Army AWO promotion board held in Ibadan.
In his remarks at the event which took place at the Headquarters of the Division in Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri Borno State, the GOC described promotion as a reward for hard work, loyalty and dedication to service as well as the nation.
He congratulated the Regimental Sergeant Major for reaching the peak of his career even as he urged him to impact military experience he gained over the years to the younger generation.
Born to the family of Gaie Jurist of Ngwaafari, Jamaa Local Government Area of Kaduna state, he attended Ngwafari primary school and Kagoro Teachers College before his enlistment into the Nigerian Army on 16 Jan 1984 as a member of 17 Recruit Regular intake.
He attended many courses among which are Drill Course, Counter Terrorism Course, RSM course among others.
In the course of his military career, the AWO has participated in various military campaigns both in and outside Nigerian.
Among them are United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNAMIL), Operation Mesa, Operation Harmony IV and Operation Lafiya Dole.
In his vote of thanks, the RSM thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai for considering him to the highest rank in the soldier’s cadre of the Nigerian Army and assured to justify the rank by adding more efforts to his duties.

He also thanked the GOC for providing the needed leadership to troops of 7 Division.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion include the commander 57 Signals Brigade Brigadier General Olusegun Adeshina, the Chief of Staff 7 Division Brigadier General AA Eyitayo, formations and unit Commanders and Principal Officers of the Division.
Others are colleagues from sister services, family members and well-wishers.
Meanwhile, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Yadi Yobe State, recently organized a medical outreach for communities in Borno and Yobe States.
Some of the beneficiaries are from mostly communities devastated by the Boko Haram insurgents.
Speaking on the exercise, the Emir of Potiskum, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram commended the Nigerian Army for organizing such exercise. He added that the exercise will further strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between it and his people.
Also, the Chairman Yunusari Local Government Area, Yerima Lawan applauded the Army for the exercise.
He recalled how the Army medical team saved the communities from poliomyelitis in 2015.
It would be recalled that communities that benefitted from the medical outreach include: Buratai, Kamuya, Bam Buratai, and Kamuya Kuffi in Biu Local Government Area of Borno state.
Similarly, Buni Yadi, Buni Gari, Gashua, Azare, Katarko in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State benefited from the exercise.
The beneficiaries were treated of malaria, typhoid, cholera, diarrhoea, diabetes, among others.
